In order to be able to consistently strengthen its leading role among airlines in terms of safety, Germania has been investing in modern safety engineering for many years. An example is the introduction of the “Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System” (TCAS II), a system for avoiding collisions in the air space with which Germania equipped its aircraft long before it became statutory. Furthermore, there is also the “Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System” (EGPWS) for avoiding dangerous ground proximity during the flight, the “Redicted Wind Shear System” (RWSS), which warns the pilots of dangerous wind shears, or the “Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System” (ACARS) which transfers all relevant on-board data online to a technical base.
The corporate licensed Germania-Technik, which is based on the latest standards of the European aeronautical authority and which allows the airline to carry out large-scale service work on its own accord, is enjoying particularly high standing. Nevertheless, for economical reasons, certain maintenance measures were and are carried out in close cooperation with MTU, Snecma Service or also the German Lufthansa AG in their technical operations.
